2016

We had a task to design, produce and install designed parquet flooring for the conference room in RUDN. We received 3D visualisations of the interiors form the customers. The idea for the design was that tables should be placed around three central medallions like in the Government House of the Russian Federation.

The design-project was created in close collaboration with the customer. Classical pattern was chosen (6-250), medallions were specifically designed for that room as well as decors' elements between medallions. Curvilinear Border 7-271 with floral decor emphasized the shape of the room and became its special ornament.

Education is a treasure, work is a key to it
  Pierre-Claude-Victor Boiste

We did the design-project, produced the designed parquet and installed it in 4 rooms of RUDN: rectorate's hall and 3 lecture halls. Total area was 780 sqm.

Each room has its own design. The main unifying element of all rooms is a quadrate. It is present in each room.

In the rectorate's hall parquet is of geometric shape. It represents a net of quadrates. Thanks to interchange of light and dark strips the geometric patterns seem three-dimensional. These patterns look precise and neat. Thus, parquet flooring coresponds to the room's particularities. Inside the quadrates there are elegant flowers made of contrast wood species. This also gives zest and charm to parquet flooring. Chosen wood species go harmoniously with the restrained room's decor.

The company's designers have made several design-projects taking into account the client's wishes and style of the room.

For the lecture hall it was decided to use oak parquet and to install it in brick pattern. This type of installation is the most stable because the planks are connected to each other on four sides. Moreover, this is the most economical type of installation as it requires less extra material. Tile 6-004 was chosen for the other part of the lecture hall.

The main background is made of ash. The type of parquet laying is brick pattern. The oval medallion is the central and main element of the parquet design. It unites the two areas: the professor's area and the students' area. The tile 6-302 and the border 7-192 were used there.

Our designers used 6 different wood species (maple, ash, oak, merbau and walnut). They managed to find the right balance between the decor's vividness and its classical austerity. They managed to combine the designed parquet and the interior.
