“The House of Culture” is one of the main leisure centers in VDNKh. This pavilion was built in 1953 according to the project of L. N. Avdotjin, U. P. Korneev, and V. I. Kolyrin. It continuous to be A venue for concerts, performances, children parties, and charity events.
The House of Culture is designed in Socialist Classicism and can be compared to a palace. It hosts a 350-set hall, a 70-seat lecture hall, a lobby with balcony and rehearsal spaces for performing artists.
Completed works
Earlier, there was no major renovation in “The House of Culture”. As a result, the building became dilapidated. To make things better, we took part in restoration works.
We produced and installed oak plank parquet. The dimensions 420*60 mm were made in conformity with historical documents.
Combination of running bond and chevron patterns enlivens the space and give dynamism.
In December, 2017, the Mayor of Moscow Sergej Sobyanin took part in a ceremony to open the renovated House of Culture. “It`s a remarkable architectural monument, which will continue to host social and cultural events and operate as an education center, as it was 60 years ago. One thing that should be pointed out is that it is a bit decayed. Restoration works brought new life to this pavilion: there are lots of people who come here to boost their energy, gain knowledge and enjoy the arts”, says Sergej. The Mayor thanked everybody, who contributed to complex restoration of the House of Culture.
